Today I called looking for my old friend, and I am heart broken. I can't believe my old friend has moved on from this life. Kelly, my brother, you were the best. I have some really great memories, and I'm going to miss you so much.
Everything that I've read here today is true, and it's so good to see that he left his life's impression on others. I met Kelly in x ray school, he was reserved and quite, I was not. We quickly became friends and when we graduated I asked him what his plans were after x ray school. He told me he wanted to go to CT/MRI school. I thought great, where? He said PITT, and that happened to be where I was going for Nuclear Medicine. We rode to Greeneville looking for separate apartments and ended up splitting a condo. That was great, for me. Because Brenda told him she would send him banana bread, and he had to share it with me. Which I reminded him every Sunday. Kelly as you know, was a great sportsman. I have never seen anyone that could cook a deer like Kelly. He went home every weekend, and especially during deer season. I talked him into staying one weekend, it was his birthday. We had one of the best times ever.
Kelly was smart, and he studied. I can remember his fellow student's calling him on more than one occasion to explain something or help them. Kelly was very patient and he knew what he was talking about.
He was a true professional, and he took pride in his work and he was always learning. I was proud of him.
Kelly used to talk about his family a lot. His dad, his mom, and brothers. He loved them and loved Savhanna. I would always ask about Savhanna, and he would laugh and tell me about how she did this or that, and I would say boy that girl is going to be spoiled rotten. He would just laugh. As we grew older, and I made less and less trips to Moore County, we would play catch-up on the phone. We would talk about life, family, work, kids, etc.
Kelly always had a smile and a laugh...I will miss him.
My condolences to Brenda, and family.
PS The photo (video) of Kelly in the ascot tux was from my wedding.
