Seagrove - Lee Martin Sheffield, age 78, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mr. Sheffield was born to Noah and Nannie Myrtle (Page) Sheffield. He was retired from Clayson Knitting Inc. and was a US Army veteran.

Lee loved to go camping, enjoyed gardening, loved his church, and especially loved his dog, Pooh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Davis Sheffield.

He is survived by three daughters, Carol Ann Britt (Danny) of Ether, Ronda Sechrest (Phillip) of Ether, and Lynn Callicutt (Bunky) of Troy; two sons, Timmy Lee Sheffield of Seagrove, and David R. Sheffield (Christie) of Seagrove; three sisters, Ruby Thompson of Troy, Linda Brady (Bill) of Troy, and Frances Crabtree (Herman) of High Falls; one brother, James Sheffield, of Ether; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 11, at 2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Andrew Hurlburt and Rev. Wayne Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, 445 Mt. Zion Church Road, Seagrove, NC 27341.
