Steven Wayne Newsome

Star - Steven Wayne Newsome, age 60, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at his residence.

Mr. Newsome was born in Henderson County to John R. “Buddy” Newsome, Sr. and the late Barbara June Clayton Newsome.

He was employed in construction work.

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his daughter, Kasey Jean Newsome.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Christy White, of the home; daughters, Summer Newsome and Michelle Newsome, both of Star; son, Jesse Newsome of Star; father, John R. “Buddy” Newsome, Sr., of Star; brother, John R. Newsome, Jr., of Dallas, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, July 29, from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Star.

A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM in Biscoe Cemetery, 480 North Main Street, Biscoe with Rev. Grady Blakely officiating.
