Allie Mae Saunders O'Quinn

Star - Allie Mae Saunders O'Quinn, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, while at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Mrs. O'Quinn was a Montgomery County resident and had lived in Star for almost 70 years. For the past three months, she had been in rehab at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Mrs. O'Quinn was the Food Service Director at FirstHealth Montgomery Hospital for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde O'Quinn; her sister, Ruth Saunders Jordan; and her brother, Price Saunders. She is survived by sons, Sandy O'Quinn (Louise) and Jeff O'Quinn (Pat), both of Raleigh; daughter, Faye O'Quinn Miller (Roger) of Biscoe; sister, Joanne King (Max) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Mark Miller (Angie); Wendy Miller Patterson (Dale); Ryan O'Quinn (Cameron); and Erin O'Quinn; great-grandchildren, Morgan Miller, Jonathon Miller, Lily Patterson, and Daniel Patterson. She is also survived by her caretaker of more than five years, Helen Williams, and by her two beloved cats, Cricket and Blackie. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Star UMC Cemetery with the Rev. Kay Boone officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the home of Faye and Roger Miller, 307 Windsor Drive, Biscoe.
