Amy Davis Hurley

Amy Caroline Davis Hurley, age 91, of Troy, passed away on May 26, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice House.

Amy was born on January 3, 1933, in Montgomery County to Ira and Martha Elizabeth Brewer Davis. She dedicated over 50 years working alongside her husband, Paul, at Hurley Ornamental Iron Works. Amy found joy in cooking, gardening, canning, and beekeeping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Lee Hurley and son David Hurley.  

She is survived by her sons Harold Hurley (Karen) of Troy; Gary Hurley (Gloria) of Troy; daughter Evelyn Hurley of Albemarle; brother Winford Davis (Sandra) of Star; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ben Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheboro.
