Eagle Springs - Beatrice Sheffield Stutts, 85, died Monday, January 30, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 3, 2012, at Browns Chapel Christian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Michael Parenti, Rev. Gary Waisner, and Rev. James Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Stutts was born in Moore County to Albert and Effie Morgan Sheffield. In her life span, she was a homemaker, cook in a nursing home, poultry grower, poultry processor, secretary, sat with friends in the nursing home and hospital, and loved designing floral arrangements. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Community Helping Hands Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Stutts; brothers and sisters, Oscar Sheffield, Herbert Sheffield, James Sheffield, Donnie Sheffield, Mae Moore, Ocie Williams, and Bertha Williams Newman.
She was the best mother, grandmother, and friend in the world and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was not only my special mother but was also my best friend. She was one of the most courageous and determined woman I have ever known.
Surviving are her daughter, Delores Stutts Thomas, of Eagle Springs; grandchildren, Carl Thomas and Dean Thomas of Eagle Springs.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
