Berta R. Helsabeck

Seagrove - Berta Lorraine Rice Helsabeck, 84, of 176 Helsabeck Lane, Seagrove, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at New Hope UMC, where she was a member, with the Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Helsabeck was born in Guilford County to William Franklin Rice, Sr. and Mary Gladys Kelly Rice and was retired from Pine Hosiery Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Helsabeck, and brother, William Franklin Rice, Jr. Surviving are her sons, Joseph Donald Helsabeck of the home, Fillmore Helsabeck of Seagrove; daughter, Lorraine LaPierre and husband, John, of Eastampton, NJ; sister, Louise King, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Shonda Helsabeck, Kelly Gaddy and husband, Tom, Megan LaPierre, Alyssa LaPierre, Nicholas LaPierre, Mackenzie Helsabeck; great-grandchildren, Tristan Gaddy, Kaden Gaddy.
