Bessie Lemons Coker

Bessie Lemons Coker, 82, of Biscoe, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 4, at Long Hill Baptist Church in Candor with the Rev. Mark Forrest, Preacher David Fields, and Preacher Donald Coker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Coker was born in Montgomery County to Dudd David and Vennie Hogan Lemons. She was a member of Long Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a prayer warrior and a Christian woman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coker was predeceased by her husband, Travis, and brothers, Fred and Henry Lemons.

Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Fields (Wallace) of Biscoe, Vickie Deaton of Biscoe; son, Preacher Donald Coker (Donna) of China Grove; five grandchildren; and, six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main St., Star.
