Betty LaVerne Walker Lee

Seagrove - Betty LaVerne Walker Lee, age 79, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Lee was born in Person County to Harvey and Myrtle Hunley Walker. She was a retired hosiery mill employee, where she was a quality control manager.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Bedford Lee, and son, Ricky Darrell Lee.

She is survived by three sons, Jerry Allen Lee and wife, Betty, of Asheboro, John David Lee of Seagrove, Bryan Keith Lee and wife, April, of Seagrove; daughter, Betty Joyce Lee, of Seagrove; daughter-in-law, Pattie Lee of Elon; three brothers, Forest Walker, Jacksonville, Florida, Tommy Walker of Burlington, and Linwood Walker of Mebane; one sister, Nancy Walker Martin of Mebane; nine grandchildren, Kevin Lee, Joshua Lee, Angela Adams, Justin Dills, Cory Lee, Laura Lee, Sydney Lee, Rayna Lee, and Jamie Wright; and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 2, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home in Star.

The funeral will be Tuesday, July 3, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, 445 Mt. Zion Church Road, Seagrove with Rev. Andrew Hurlbert and his wife, Kara, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
