Bill Garrett Coggins

Biscoe- Bill Garrett Coggins, at the age of 64, went home to be with the Lord after a rough, long battle with cancer on October 18, 2021, at Frist Health of the Carolina’s.  Bill was surrounded by his loving wife of 43 years and his precious daughter. 

He was a loving husband, father and grandpa who enjoyed to fish, hunt, ride the four-wheeler, play corn hole, and shoot the breeze (conversations) with people.  He provided for his family by working in the furniture business most of his life.  Just a few of his precious memories was gaining a son-in-law and becoming a grandpa of two wonderful grandkids and visits with them.

Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Ila Coggins, Raleigh and Josie Dunn of Biscoe, NC; mother, Mary Elizabeth Dunn of Biscoe, NC; Uncle’s, Jack Coggins and Raleigh Dunn Jr. (nickname- “Brother”) and Aunt Billie Shirlen of Biscoe, NC; Cousin Steve Allen Coleman of Biscoe, NC.

He is survived by his wife Illene Coggins of the home and daughter Anna Fredell, son-in-law Billy Fredell Jr. of Maiden, NC.  “Paw-Paw” will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Emma and Levi Fredell.  Father Max Coggins and Stepmother Susie Coggins of Biscoe, NC; brothers, Daniel Coggins of Woodrun, NC, Todd Coggins of Biscoe, NC, and sister Sara Greene (George) of Troy, NC.

The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 12:00-1:30 pm at Bill and Illene’s home at 607 Coggins Road, Biscoe NC on Saturday, October 23, 2021.  

At 2:00 pm there will be a “Celebration” of Bill’s life.  Please come as you are, bringing yourself with your stories, as we “Celebrate” the life of Bill G. Coggins.

In lieu of flowers, Bill requested for those who wish to show their sympathy by donating to St. Judes Children’s Hospital ( www.st.jude.org), to give the children a fighting chance against CANCER.
