Troy - Billy Joe Carter, age 60, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at his home in Okeewemee.
Billy was born in Montgomery County on March 14, 1959 to James Wallace Carter, Jr. and Lucille Williamson Carter. He was the Knitting & Control manager at Alandale in Troy.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Green Carter, of the home; daughter, Rebecca Greene and husband, Charles, of Biscoe; sons, Curtis Carter of Troy and Mitchell Daren Hall of Raleigh; mother, Lucille Williamson Carter, of Asheboro; brother, James Christopher Carter and wife, Judy, of Gibsonville; sisters, Debbie Burris of Troy, Carrie (Cooki) Senter and husband, John, of Asheboro, and Mary Anne Carter of Randleman; granddaughters, Kaylla Hall, Hannah Hall, Gwenyth Greene, Charli Greene, and Neco Hall.
His family was his entire life. He loved his mother, sisters & brothers with everything in him. His children & grandchildren were an immense sense of pride he brought with him everywhere. His wife was the love of his life that forever changed him.
He will have a celebration of life ceremony at Denson's Creek Country Club in Troy, Saturday March, 7th. Food, snacks and drinks will be provided starting at 3pm. All friends, family & colleagues are invited to attend & share personal stories and listen to his favorite music. Much like his life, this ceremony will be far from traditional and is expected to be casual.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions be made to Samaritan Colony, 136 Samaritan Drive Rockingham NC 28379.
