Carl Junior Martin

Star - Carl Junior Martin, 89, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, June 4, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Star, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ralph Smith and Rev. Chris Bouldin officiating. Interment will be in Leach Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Mr. Martin was born in Montgomery County to Daniel Azor and Iola Britt Martin. He was a retired plant manager at Pine Hosiery Mill with 38 years of service and was a veteran of the US Army during WWII as a military policeman.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Mabe Martin, of the home; three sons, Steve Martin of Star, Phillip Martin (Judy) of Star, Terry Lee Martin (Denise) of Orlando, FL; one daughter, Susan Reynolds (Brian) of Star; seven grandchildren, Beth, Brian, Stacey, Matthew, Adam, Ashley, and Terry, Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Tyler, Ashley, Brianna, Shaun, Ian, and Gavin.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, June 3, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
