Carol Lee Poole

Carol Lee Poole, 77, of Biscoe, passed away on December 3, 2023, at FirstHealth Hospice House.

Carol was born in 1946 and was the son of Walter and Etta Poole of Star. 

Carol was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, his parents, and his brother Lonnie. 

Carol is survived by his partner Kerry Hensley of Biscoe and his three children, Cloeann (Michael) of Roswell, Ga, Angela (Doug) of Biscoe, and Chad (Jenny) of Bennettsville, South Carolina. Carol had 5 grand children which he adored, Trenton, Chloe, Emily, Madison and Sara and two great grandchildren Collete and Adeline and 5 siblings, brother Harold (Wanda) of Charlotte, and sisters Wanda, Wilma, Mary and Kathy of Star and many nieces and nephews. 

Carol was best known for his intelligence and ability to build or repair complex machinery and his long career as plant engineer at Springs Industries in Biscoe and Facility Maintenance Supervisor at Southern Correctional Institution. Since retirement, Carol enjoyed attending the events of his children and grandchildren. Traveling and shopping with Kerry and going on adventures with his buddies to Cherokee. Carol had a zest for life that was felt by all those around him and he never met a stranger, which was evident when he walked into any room. His greatest accomplishment was the family he raised and the love and faith he taught them to carry forward in life. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Star Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am with Rev. Kim Stamey officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am. Burial will follow at Star Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military rites.
