Charles Warren Covington

Charles "Warren" Covington, age 69, of Star, passed away on December 5, 2024, at Tara Plantation Assisted Living in Carthage.

Warren was born on January 30, 1955, in Richmond County to Charles Lindbergh and Edith Allen Covington. He dedicated many years of his life working alongside his father as a finish carpenter.   For many years Warren and his sister sang sacred duets throughout the community and churches and when he met his wife, Dawn it became a trio.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years Dawn Britt Covington of the home; daughter Amanda Covington (Jesse) of Troy; sons Britt Covington of Star and Kurt Covington of Star; sister Mary Covington (Terry Thompson) of Ellerbe; niece Elizabeth Chappell and nephew Wesley Chappell; as well as three grandnephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Star Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kim Stamey officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm. Burial will follow at the Old New Hope Church Cemetery in Star.
