Star - Charley Lewis Thompson, Jr., 72, of 314 Dover Road, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Bryant Funeral Home, 607 N Parler Avenue, St. George, SC, with the Rev. Jerry Thompson officating. Internment will follow in Heaton Cemetery, Cross Creek Road, Reevesville, SC. Mr. Thompson was born in Charleston, SC to Charley Lewis Thompson, Sr. and Margaret Murray Thompson. He was a retired Consulting Engineer. Surviving are his wife, Helen Walters Thompson, of the home; daughters, Lynn Thompson of Greensboro, Virginia Jicha of Fayetteville, Sonya Chavez of Star, Rosanna Byrd of Fayetteville; sisters, Patricia Milhouse of Orangeburg, SC, Anne Garrett, of Auburn, Alabama; brother; Henry Thompson, of West Columbia, SC; 5 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
