Claudis Eugene Barrett

Claudis Eugene Barrett, 82, of Biscoe, passed away on October 15, 2023, at his home.

Claudis was born on September 2, 1941, in Moore County to James Watson and Arnetia Elizabeth S. Barrett. He was a retired textile worker and a member of Hood Chapel AME Zion Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice "Butch" Barrett; brother Joseph Barrett, sisters Mary Estella Person and Thelma Williams, brother James Barrett, sister Betty Simmons, brothers Norman Barrett and Royce Barrett, sisters Dora McCain and Patricia Barrett.

He is survived by his daughters Dianne Wyatt (Terry) of Robbins; Gloria Horne (Theodore) of Jackson Springs; Sherry Orellana (Oscar) of Star; Kiana Barrett of Biscoe; Ketrice Robinson of California; and son Travis Talley of Candor; sister Cheryl Armstrong (Roger) of Robbins, brother Willis Barrett (Deborah) of Robbins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Hood Chapel AME Zion Church at 2:00 pm officiated by Reverend Monique Banks and eulogy by Reverend Dr. Jeff Person. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Lewis Lyle Cemetery.
