Clyde J. Cagle

Seagrove - Clyde J. Cagle, 89, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 6, 2016, at Dover Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Bouldin and Rev. David Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Cagle was born in Montgomery County to Irvin and Ella Vasti Comer Cagle. He was a former sawmill owner/operator and retired from McNeill Frame Shop. He attended Dover Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mary Sheffield Cagle; granddaughter, Joy Denise Wilson; and brothers, Joe and Melvin Cagle.

He is survived by his three daughters, Ruby Wilson (Reggie) of West End, Rachel King (Earl) of Pinebluff, Joyce Walker (Bart) of Asheboro; two sisters, Annie Ruth Rose of Ether, Betty Lineberry of Robbins; one brother, Virgil Cagle (Joan) of Seagrove; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
