Star - Della Ernestine Browne Newsom, 69, of 119 Owens Street, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Kelley officiating. Mrs. Newsom was born in Randolph County to Ernest Talmadge and Marguriette Stutts Browne. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Joe S. Newsom, of Star; daughters, Elisa Martin and husband, Travis, of Travelers Rest, SC, Della Davis of Chesterfield, SC, Julia Hare of Asheboro; sons, Mark Newsom and wife, Tonya, of Star, Eric Newsom and wife, Susan, of Star, Alex Newsom of Star; brother, Charles T. Browne, of Asheboro; sister, Beth Coleman and husband, Steve, of Asheboro; 11 grandchildren.
