Dianne Freeman Behrendt

Dianne Freeman Behrendt, 77, of Candor, passed away on September 12, 2023, at her home.

Dianne was born in Randolph County on March 21, 1946, to Vestal and Flossie Auman Freeman. She had a long and dedicated career, working with the NC Department of Corrections and retiring from the Sheriff's Department in New Hanover County.

In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by her sisters Billie Nichols, Barbara Freeman, Leatrice James, and her brother Lacy Freeman.

She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Chappell (Keith) of Candor and her son Brent Davis of Seagrove. Dianne is also survived by her grandchildren Megan Coggins and Katie Haynes (Wyatt), as well as great-grandchildren Makayla and Gunner.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Ether United Methodist Church at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Dianne's honor to Hospice of Randolph at 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
