Dorothy Garner Parker

Dorothy Garner Parker, age 84, of Eagle Springs, passed away on June 25, 2022 at Autumn Care.

Mrs. Parker was born in Moore County on July 19, 1937 to Dennis and Zola Williams Garner.

She is survived by her husband Robert L. "Bobby" Parker of the home; daughters Janet Speckman (Mark) of Greensboro; Sharon Morgan (Jack) of Marietta, GA.; son Roger Parker ( Traci) of Charlotte.  Grandchildren Meghan Speckman, Hannah Morgan, Mary Emily Morgan, Matthew Parker (Kali), Eli Parker and Addison Parker.  Great grandchildren Kara, Kaitlyn, Gemma, and Samuel.

On June 25, 2022, Dorothy Parker was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She truly walked in the footsteps of Christ every day of her life, studying his word to know Him more deeply and sharing His love with all those who came into her presence. To walk into a room with her was to feel instantly known and loved. By living as she did, she pointed those around her to Christ and salvation through Him. Stories of her tenderness and mercy to others in their times of need abound in the community.

She and Bobby, her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, have shown us all what it means to love as Christ does. Even after a stroke 14 years ago made it hard for her to do all she once did, when she needed help to stand and walk, Bobby was always there, and their great love for one another reminds us all how to cherish and abide in one another, no matter the cost. Her children and grandchildren will remember the meals around her table, her little kindnesses and her thoughtfulness. She was simply the best person we have ever known. We are consoled by our knowledge that one day we will be with her again in joy and praise.   "1 Corinthians 16:14”

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Needham's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. DJ Harry and Rev. Arnold Comer officiating.  Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at Needham's Grove Baptist Church from 12:00-1:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
