Edna Odom Brown Cox

Star - Edna Odom Brown Cox, age 85, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Sandy Ridge Memory Care in Candor. Edna was born in Montgomery County on March 22, 1936 to Charlie and Lola Pickard Odom. She was retired from Clayson Knitting Co. Inc. and was a member of Star United Methodist Church. She will be remembered by her sweet smile and love for her family, friends, and the Town of Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James H. Brown and Ed Cox; son, Charles Harold Brown; and brothers, Oakland L. Odom, L.R. Odom, and Edward Odom. She is survived by her son, Wesley Brown of Star and sisters, Martha Chriscoe and Virginia Chriscoe, both of Seagrove. Edna's body will lie in repose from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2, at Phillips Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 3, at Star United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kay Boone officiating.
