Edward Dempsey Hogan, age 87, passed away peacefully Monday, September 18, 2017, at Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Hogan was born in Montgomery County on December 26, 1929 to James and Ruby Freeman Hogan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers J.E. and Maurice Hogan.
He was retired from Black and Decker and was a member of Asbury Baptist Church, Seagrove.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Robbins Hogan, of the home; son, Eddie Hogan and special friend, Cathy Moore Spivey of Seagrove; daughter, Elaine McNeill and husband, Jimmy, of Seagrove; sister, Clarice Jones of Asheboro; granddaughter, Marli Hogan of Seagrove; grandsons, Jacob Hogan of Raleigh, Jeff McNeill and wife, Autumn, and Jeremy McNeill and wife, Farrah, all of Seagrove; and one great-grandson, Langston McNeill.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday September 20, 2017, at Asbury Baptist Church with Rev Wayne Bryson and Rev. Tracy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday September 19, 2017 at Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
The family wishes to share that Mr. Hogan loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandson and his church. The family wishes to say thank you to Dr. Gage's office, Dr. William's office, and the Randolph Hospice House for the care they provided to their loved one.
