Eleanor Deleano Royal Bowman

Star - Eleanor Deleano Royal Bowman, 82, formerly of Star, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Long Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Mark Forest , Rev. Tim Fonner, and Rev. Ed Cook officiating. Interment will be in Leach Cemetery in Star. Mrs. Bowman was born in Davidson County to Amos Royal, Sr. and Mary Lambeth Royal. She was a retired truck driver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bowman; sisters, Maxine Maness, Betty Johnson; brothers, Pete Royal, John Royal, and Lonnie Royal. She is survived by her daughter, Shirleen B. Dorsett and husband, Alvin, of Asheboro; sister, Barbara Jean Reeder, of Albemarle; grandsons, Ken Bingham of Albemarle, Chris Bingham of Asheboro; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
