Biscoe - On Sunday, November 3, 2019, Elizabeth Ruth Parker, surrounded by family, passed peacefully away. Beloved by so many, her passing leaves a void in our hearts. Most graciously however, she leaves a divine trove of memories for those who knew her as an ever-loving mother, a doting grandmother, a caring sister, and a beautiful strong-willed woman.
Born in Mt. Gilead, NC, on January 29, 1957, to Earl and Isabelle Parker, Ruth lived her life between Montgomery and Randolph counties. Her final years were spent near her brothers and sisters in Biscoe, NC.
Through life Ruth followed Christ, and her faith blossomed at Biscoe Christian Church. She was a 1975 graduate of East Montgomery High School and spent many years working in the textile and furniture industries, primarily at Klaussner Furniture.
Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her brother, James “Jimmy” Parker.
Ruth’s greatest joy was being a mother, as such, she will be forever missed and is survived by her daughter, Stacey Hawley of Baltimore, MD; and her son, Dustin Hawley and his wife, Nicole, of South Amboy, NJ.
She will also be missed and survived by her brother, William Parker of Biscoe; her sisters, Joyce Parker of Hamlet and Lois Craven of Star; sister-in-law and wife of Jimmy, Sharon Parker of Biscoe; her grandchildren, Revin Bray of Coleridge, Caleb and Trinity Cassidy of Baltimore, MD and Nathaniel and Charlotte Hawley of South Amboy, as well as her former husband, Ralph Hawley of Asheboro.
Though Ruth will be greatly missed, more importantly she will be greatly remembered.
A memorial service will be held at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Star on Thursday, November 7, at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating.
