Troy - Ernest Wayne Hurley, age 83, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at his home.
Mr. Hurley was born in Montgomery County on June 26, 1936 to William Keplar and Margaret Trogdon Hurley. He was a retired superintendent with Weaver Construction Company for many years and was a member of Macedonia UMC in Abner. He was a veteran of the US Army, where he served during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Gene, and Noel Hurley.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joretta Lou Ellis Hurley, of the home; brothers, James Hurley and wife, Audrey, of Troy and Phillip Hurley and wife, Brenda, of Star; sister, Mildred Hurley Yongue, of Laurinburg; and sister-in-law, Ann Hurley, of Lancaster, SC.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, a private graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 19, at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery in Abner with the Rev. Bill Knapp officiating.
