Lansing - Essie Irene Brown Freeman, 84, of 2085 Big Piney Creek Road, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Guiding Light Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She was born in Montgomery County to Vernon Bright and Mary Annie Campbell Wilson. She was a retired textile inspector. She is survived by her children, Mary Ettie Brown Maness of Carthage, Lloyd Eugene Brown of Calhoun, GA, Tony Clarence Brown of Robbins, Lawrence Harold Brown of Sevierville, TN, Clifford Wayne Brown of Aberdeen, Karen Irene Brown of Lansing; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Guiding Light Baptist Church, 3325 Spies Road, Robbins.
