Essie Beulah Mashburn

Essie Beulah Mashburn, age 99, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

Mrs. Mashburn was born in Montgomery County on April 26, 1922, to John Barnum and Verna Davis Cooper.  She was a retired hosiery mill worker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Rozell Mashburn and sister Ottie Myrick.

She is survived by her daughters Marlene Mashburn of Star;  Donna Wilson of San Antonio Texas; and son Jimmy Mashburn of Star. Brother Neal Cooper of Asheboro, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday December 27, 2021, at Phillips Funeral Home from 10:00-10:45 am.

Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at Phillps Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Interment will follow the service at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
