EAGLE SPRINGS - To borrow a quote from Anne Graham Lotz, "Heaven came down and glory
filled the soul" of Ethel Morgan Richardson, 80, on Sunday, October 21, 2018. She passed
away peacefully at her home.
Ethel was born at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia, on July 12, 1938. She lived
with her parents in Hampton, Virginia until they moved to North Carolina where Ethel began her
education with Moore County Schools. She was a 1955 graduate of Elise High School. She
attended Bryce Commercial College in High Point. After graduating, she was employed as
office manager at Carthage Fabrics for several years until becoming a stay-at-home mom.
Ethel accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior when she was nine years old while
attending a revival at Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she later became a member. Prior to
her illness, Ethel had near perfect Sunday School attendance for 33 years.
Ethel loved shopping, crocheting, cross stitching, reading, gardening, and she enjoyed sitting on
the porch admiring her flowers and observing the wildlife in her yard.
She was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her parents, William Kermit Morgan and Edna Williams
Morgan, as well as her husband, Donald Alton Richardson.
Ethel is survived by her daughters, Donna Richardson of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Dianna
Richardson of Eagle Springs, N.C., and two very special friends - Gary Welch of Robbins, N.C.
and Odell Brown of Eagle Springs, N.C. She leaves behind her brother, R.E. Morgan of Eagle
Springs, N.C. Finally, she will be sorely missed by her walking partner and grandpoodle, Macy.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 1:00 - 1:45 PM, Thursday,
October 25, 2018, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 2459 Pine Grove Church Road, Eagle Springs,
N.C. The service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM , with the Rev. Bill Reynolds officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
