Frances Maness Higdon

Star - Frances Maness Higdon, 77, of 115 Alma Drive, died Sunday, October 20, 2013, at FirstHealth Hospice House. Graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Biscoe Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Ms. Higdon was born in Montgomery County to Howard Taft and Alma Haywood Maness. She was a former manager of Old South Inn and Uwharrie Mountain Lodge in Troy; former employee of Springs Inc. Aileen Plant, and was a member of Bright Light Church in Gastonia. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elaine Cockman. She is survived by her daughters, Terrie Thomas of Troy, Sandy Lamonds of Biscoe, Susan Allen of Troy; sons, Randy Newsome of Asheboro, Mark Higdon of Star; brothers, Marshall Maness of Pittsburgh, PA, Larry Maness of Star; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. No visitation will be held. Graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Biscoe Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. No visitation will be held.
