Gatha King Bym

Gatha King Bym, 87, formerly of Seagrove, died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 26, at Asbury Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Bryson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bym was born in Montgomery Co. to the Rev. Bascom and Vellie Cole King. She was a member of Asbury Baptist Church, worked at Cole's Pottery for many years, and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bym was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Henry Bym; sisters, Molly Reeder, Virginia Shelton, Ida Auman, and brothers, Elrin, Lamon, Grady, Rochie, Evin, and Lenard King.

Surviving are her sons, John David Bym (Donna) of Seagrove, Timothy Bym of Asheboro; brothers, Reece King of Seagrove, Don King of Asheboro, Michael King of Carolina Beach; sister, Doris King of Asheboro; and, grandsons, Jonathan and Matthew.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, July 25, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
