Gene Britt

Ira Eugene "Gene" Britt, age 84, of Biscoe, passed away on March 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family who he was so proud of.

Gene was born in Forsyth County on June 19, 1937 to Ira Rufus and Annie Flippin Britt. He enjoyed farming, working with his tractors, and singing with his brother Jerry and cousin J.G. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Inez Britt and Ruby Britt Branch and granddaughter Erica Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Evelyn Parsons Britt of the home; daughters Emily Dunn (Darrell) of Star and Jeanna Morgan (Eric) of Seagrove.  Sister Rosemary Winn (Charlie) of Troy, brother Jerry Britt of Biscoe, grandchildren Lauren Morgan (Tyler McNeill), Thomas Morgan and Ethan Dunn (Karla Perez).

The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at First Health Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care and niece Faye Stephens who cared so tenderly for him over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Health Hospice Foundation at 150 Applecross Road  Pinehurst, NC 28374.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Phillips Funeral Home from 6-8 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Community Baptist Church in Candor with the Rev. Buddy Maness officiating.  Burial will follow in the Britt Family Cemetery.
