Eagle Springs - Gilbert Williams, 78, of Dry Creek Lane, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Interment will be in Brown's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born in Moore County to Archie Clarence and Cora Lee Sheffield Williams. He was a retired supervisor in furniture manufacturing. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Sanders Williams, of the home; daughters, Janice Davis (Stephen) of Seagrove, Lisa Williams (Tommy) of Eagle Springs; grandson, Derek Stephen Davis; sister, Lois Williams Simon (Eddie) of Greensboro; brothers, Archie Williams (Joann)of Star, Van Williams (Helen) of Eagle Springs. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
