Gracie Clementine Hawks Sechrest

Seagrove - Gracie Clementine Hawks Sechrest, age 83, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Mrs.Sechrest was born in Carroll County, Virginia on December 13, 1933 to Edgar Eugene and Annie Mae Akers Hawks. She married her husband, Herman Sechrest, on October 27, 1951. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She fulfilled her life by being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Herman Junior Sechrest, of the home; one daughter, Patricia Cagle and husband, Frankie J., of Robbins; three sons, Larry Sechrest and wife, Cheryl, of Star, Phillip Sechrest and wife, Ronda, of Ether, and Keith Sechrest and wife, Donna, of Ether; two sisters, Elza Bowman of Ararat, Virginia, Bonnie Gwyn of Mt. Airy; one brother, Marley Hawks of Winston- Salem; seven grandchildren, Angie, Ken, Candy, Derek, Kristy, Summer, and Chad; thirteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 1:00 - 2:45 pm at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.

The funeral will begin at 3:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Trent Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Biscoe Cemetery.
