Harvey Lee Dorsett

Troy - Harvey Lee Dorsett, age 75, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living in Candor.

Mr. Dorsett was born in Montgomery County on February 22, 1942 to Hosea Lee and Florence Mae (Spivey) Dorsett. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of Long Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Haywood Dorsett; brothers, Roy, Carlos, Jim, and Clarence Dorsett; and sisters, Frances Parker and Elizabeth Britt.

He is survived by his sister, Bernell D. Braswell (Terry) of Troy; brother, Alvin Dorsett (Shirleen) of Asheboro; step-daughters, Amy Glover (Toney) of Troy, and Karen Bailey of Seagrove; step-grandchildren, Breanna, Ken, and Candice; and four step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6 - 8 PM at Phillips Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bernell and Terry Braswell, 106 Glen Road, Troy.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Long Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
