Harvey Lee Greene Jr.

Harvey Lee Greene Jr., age 80, of Sneads Ferry, passed away on May 7, 2022.

Harvey was born in Randolph County on January 5, 1942 to Harvey Lee and Margaret Miller Greene Sr.  Harvey grew up and raised his family in Star.  He spent his adult life working in hosiery mills and built his own business (Eastmon Hosiery in Biscoe, NC) in the late 1980's where he worked until he retired in 1997 and sold the business. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and after retirement he moved to Sneads Ferry where he had a charter boat business as well as a pottery business.  Later in life he got into RVing and bought a home in Port St. Lucie, Florida where he resided for 10 years before returning to Sneads Ferry.

In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his first wife June Nance Greene and brothers Leonard Greene and Jack Greene.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Holt Greene of the home; sons Rodney Greene (Michelle) of Star; Todd Greene (Rocio) of Charlotte and grandchildren, Nickolas Greene, Ashlee Greene, Elizabeth Greene and Victoria Greene.

Mr. Greene's body will lie in repose on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Phillips Funeral Home from 9:00 to 10:00 am.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Dover Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am.
