Harvey Lee Safrit

Mt. Gilead - Harvey Lee Safrit, age 70, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Safrit was born in Anson County on August 31, 1947 to Broughton Wilson and Marion Elizabeth Pope Safrit. He was a veteran of the US Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Corning

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Larry Safrit.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Ann Myrick Safrit, of the home; two daughters, Crystal Safrit Shepard and husband, Kyle, of Biscoe and their children, Dustin and Bailey; and Charity Safrit Dalton and husband, Roy, of Mt. Gilead and their children, LeeAnna, Thomas, Kimberly, Dillon, and Anthony; two sisters, Laraine McCaskill of Longs, SC and Lynn Hocker and husband, Jeff, of Sarasota, FL; one sister-in-law, Barbara Safrit of Marshville.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 20, 2018, from 1:00 - 1:45 pm at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 2459 Pine Grove Church Road, Eagle Springs. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Bill Reynolds and Rev. Lowell Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by Randolph County Honor Guard.
