Helen Hastings Luquire

Biscoe - Helen Hastings Luquire, 96 years old of Biscoe, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2015 at Autumn Care in Biscoe, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home in Star, NC prior to funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Biscoe Cemetery. Helen was born on August 31, 1918 to Dudley and Ada Hastings in Hillsborough, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph Leo Luquire; one sister, Pauline; two brothers, Owen and Clarence; and granddaughter Julie Luquire. Those left to cherish her memories include her three sons and their wives: Max (Jane), Charles (Iris) and Tommy (Pattie), five grandchildren: Melissa Brant (Gary), Ellen Batu (Michael), Kevin Luquire, Holly Luquire, Laura Wrenn (Jordan), eleven great-grandchildren: Meredith, Kaelyn, Matthew, Tyler, Colin, Maddie, Katy, Kyndall, Sarah Jane, Max and Will, and four great-great grandchildren: Dawson, Kennedy, Chandler and Xander. Helen retired after forty years of service to Springs Mills and was a member of First Baptist Church of Biscoe from its conception, some 60 years ago. Helen also volunteered to deliver meals on wheels and enjoyed the time she could spend with those she served. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the nurses, special care givers and friends at First Health Memorial Hospital in Troy, Sandy Ridge in Candor and Autumn Care in Biscoe. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to First Baptist Church, Biscoe, PO Box 36, Biscoe, NC 27209, in her memory. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Biscoe Cemetery.
