Howard Spencer

Howard Spencer, Jr., age 87, of 164 Brewer Road, Biscoe, died Thursday, January 14, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Lynn officiating. Interment will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Southern Pines. He was born in West Virginia to John Howard and Inez Mae Alderman Spencer. He was a retired building contractor, attended Southside Baptist Church, and was a World War II US Air Force veteran. Surviving are his son, Richard Craig Spencer, of Biscoe; step-sister, Verna June Dunn of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Friday, January 15, 2010, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at 164 Brewer Road, Biscoe.
