Mrs. Irene Deaton Freeman, 78, of 326 Bowman Road, Candor, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Troy-Candor Road, Candor. Mrs. Freeman was born in Montgomery County to Lonnie and Elizabeth Parnell Deaton. She worked for Collins & Aikman. Surviving are her Four Sons: Roland English, Albemarle, NC Lonnie English, Robbins, NC George English, Robbins, NC Andrew English, Robbins, NC Two Daughters: Linda Hursey, Liberty, NC Louise English, Candor, NC One Sister: Ella Haskell, Rockingham, NC 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, April 2, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
