Irene Saunders Kern

Irene Saunders Kern, 92, of 303 Stuart St., Star, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 1, at Star Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gus Feather officiating. Interment will be in Star Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Kern was a native of Montgomery County born to Rev. C. W. and Myrtle Viola Cranford Saunders. She was a child care worker. Surviving are her Two Sons: Timothy T. Kern, Jr., Seagrove, NC Mickey Kern , Asheboro, NC Six Daughters: Doris Welch, Greensboro, NC Sylvia Chavez, Capitan, NM Nell Daves, Greensboro, NC Judy McCreary, Lexington , NC Terry Parsons, of the home Jeanne Black, Star, NC 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, February 28, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
