Biscoe - Israel Monroe Luther, 61, of 127 Brewer Lane, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at FirstHealth Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Biscoe Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Lax officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Luther was born in Montgomery County to Junior and Martha Williamson Luther. He was employed with Alandale Knitting Company, where he was in charge of Quality Control. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his companion, Rosario Omidoza, of the home; son, Monroe Luther (Meredith) of Midland, GA; step-son, Chris Greene (Becky) of Candor; mother, Martha Williamson Luther, of Biscoe; sisters, Dorothy Poole (Tommy) of Mooresville, Jennie Ward (Tony) of Star; brothers, Jerry Luther of Raeford, Jimmy Luther of Chapel Hill. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, November 1, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life - Montgomery County, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Biscoe Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Lax officiating. Interment will be in Mt.
