Alaska - Jack Leroy Brewer, 62, of Hoonah, Alaska, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, April 4, 2014, at Dover Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brewer was born in Montgomery County to James Ellis and Rachel Davis Brewer. He was a 1970 graduate of East Montgomery High School. He was a welder, mill wright, gunsmith, sawyer, blacksmith, and a custodian at Hoonah public schools.
Mr. Brewer was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors of Alaska.
Mr. Brewer is survived by his daughter, Amy Lynn Snow (Gideon) of New Zealand; son, Austin Reece Brewer, of Anchorage, Alaska; mother, Rachel Davis Brewer, of Star; sister, Beverly Hogan (Willis) of Ether; brother, James Calvin Brewer (Ann) of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Gracie, Summer, and Jackson Snow.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 3, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at 114 Hogan Farm Road, Star.
