Jack Roger Floyd, age 74, of Ether, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sally Plowman and the Rev. James Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Ether UMC Cemetery. Mr. Floyd was born in Montgomery County to Walter Claude and Josephine Wallace Floyd. He was a member of Ether UMC, a US Army veteran, and was a member of Biscoe Masonic Lodge #437 A.F. & A.M. He was a retired owner/operator of Floyd's Store in Ether. Surviving are: Sisters: Catherine Parsons, of Candor Frances "Tom" Sheffield, of Biscoe Jane Wissel, of Vero Beach, FL Betty Maynard, of Star Several nieces and nephews The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 -10:30 AM at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home of his sister, Betty Maynard, Dover Street, Star.
