James Lee McDaniel

Star - James Lee McDaniel, 80, died Monday, January 18, 2016, at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2016, at White Oak Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Betsy Soto officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Mr. McDaniel was born in Randolph County to Albert Lee and Bertie Mae Owens McDaniel. He was a retired textile employee and a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed playing his guitar, piano, and loved to travel. He was a member of VFW Post #9881.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael James McDaniel; brother, Clyde McDaniel; and sister, Edith McDaniel.

Surviving are his wife, Annie Mabe McDaniel, of the home; daughters, Debbie Wallace (Perry), of Star, Lisa Jones (Bobby), of Seagrove; grandson, Pierce Wallace; brother, Charles McDaniel, of Star.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
