Janis Paty Jarrell

Janis Paty Jarrell, age 68, of Star, passed away on September 21, 2022.

Janis was born in Norfolk, Virginia on February 5, 1954.  She was raised in Dunedin, FL, and attended Eckerd College and Walton Community College, where she earned a degree in Nursing. Prior to her life in Star, she lived and worked in Atlanta, Grayton Beach, Washington DC, and Asheboro.  In Star, she joined the Star Methodist Church and worked as a volunteer and teacher.

Janis and her husband Terry Lee Jarrell enjoyed a wonderful life together in Star, where they raised Terry's daughters, Ashley and Megan.  Janis was know and loved for her tender heart, her joyful wit and laughter, her love of music and singing, her passion for the beach and ocean, and her undying loyalty to friends and family.  Her life was enriched by her adoring dogs, Atlas and Angel.

Janis is survived by her loving family in Star- Terry Jarrell; Ashley, William, Adeline and Liam Council; Megan Jarrell, Chris Sullivan, Dean Sullivan and Blake Sullivan; Sherry, John and Heather Brookfield.  Her family in New York City, Philip Paty, Sheree Silvey, Allyson Paty, and Melanie Paty; and her devoted friends Torie Leeburg and Debbie Gerlach. Janis was preceded in death by her father Philip Paty Sr., mother Carolyn Mease Paty, brother Robert Paty and sister Elizabeth Paty.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Star United Methodist Church. A memorial service will also be held in Dunedin, FL in December.

Donations may be given in her memory to your local food bank or the Montgomery County Food Distribution Center in Troy.
