Jennifer Gayle Blake-Hoyos, 48, passed away on February 21, 2025. Jennifer was born April 27, 1976, the second child of James (Jimmy) and Rebecca Smith Blake. A truly bright light, exuding determination, joy and love, Jennifer was known for her laughter and her ability to deeply connect with everyone she encountered.
Jennifer was a 1994 graduate of East Montgomery High School, a 1998 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a 2002 graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Her early career focused primarily on social work, followed by a 22 year career in interior design. She ultimately created her own interior design business, The Tailored Pillow.
Jennifer married Aureliano (Henry) Hoyos on June 23, 2001. They were married for 23 years. Their relationship exemplified commitment and enduring love. In addition to Henry, Jennifer leaves behind her proudest achievements and greatest loves, her children — Blake, Carter and Kate. Jennifer is also survived by her parents Jimmy and Rebecca Blake; siblings Chris (Barbie) Blake and Natalie (Chris) Blake-Macali; grandmother Inez Blake; adored nieces and nephews; and her extended Hoyos and Parrado family. She will be missed immensely and remembered with true joy and gratitude.
A celebration of Jennifer’s life was held at Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday, March 1, 2025. There will be an additional Celebration of Life service at First Baptist Church in Biscoe, North Carolina on Saturday, March 8 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to World Vision or the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge-New York, two organizations that were close to Jennifer’s heart.
