Robbins - Jerry entered his eternal home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, after a yearlong struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Jerry lived most of his life in the area of Spies, near Robbins and was the son of William and Ruth Sheffield Williamson. Many knew him as the “bicycle man”. He wore out many bicycles through the years, logging in thousands of miles.
Jerry would start a conversation with anyone and lived his life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He had a remarkable memory for dates and numbers and could recall the birthdays of anyone who told him their birthdays. Everyone, jokingly, said they needed to carry him to Vegas with them.
Jerry is survived by brothers, Rick and wife, Brenda of Asheboro and Charles and wife, Connie of Denton. He was predeceased in death by his parents and brother, Glenn. He loved all his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He always loved the Sheffield family reunion each year. He was very close to nephew, R.J. Williamson, wife Amanda and their children, Landon and Lauren.
He made many friends during his stay at Montgomery Village in Star. The family does appreciate all the staff there for their kindness towards Jerry.
Jerry’s body will lie in repose from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, at Phillips Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, at Brown’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Ron Chaney and the Rev. Kenneth Tucker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brown’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, 608 Brown’s Chapel Church Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
