Star - Jesse Melvin Noah, 78, of 2030 Harper Avenue NW, Lenoir, formerly of Star, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Dover Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lonnie Gibson officiating. He was born in Patrick County, VA to Joe Ed and Martha Jane Pack Noah and was a retired construction concrete laborer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Davis Noah. Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Carlton, of King; sister, Mary Gallimore, of Seagrove; brothers, Ed Bowman, of Archdale, Johnny Noah, of King; one grandson. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Dover Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lonnie Gibson officiating.
