Joe Carson Dawkins

Biscoe - Joe Carson Dawkins, age 61, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Dawkins was born in Montgomery County on June 20, 1957, to Garl and Sarah Ellen Asbill Dawkins. He was a 30-year veteran of Biscoe Fire Department, where he served as assistant chief. He was a 32-year employee of TSI and was affiliated with Rocky Creek Fellowship Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Bridgers Dawkins.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Parsons Dawkins, of the home; brothers, Donald Dawkins and wife, Dawn, of Asheboro and Bill Dawkins and wife, Jean, of Biscoe; nephews, Gary Dawkins and Mike Dawkins; niece, Angela Dawkins; step-daughter, Marion Garner Ordway and husband, Ed, of Mt. Gilead; four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 30, at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Free and Tony Sedberry officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery in Biscoe.
