John Robert "Bobby" Carter, Sr., 75, of 117 Lassiter Loop Rd., Troy, died Friday, September 17, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 20, at Little River United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Patricia Sykes officiating. Mr. Carter was a native of Cumberland County and a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are his wife, Mary Isabelle Carter, of the home. One Son: John Robert Carter, Jr., Mt. Gilead, NC Two Daughters: Anita Ramierz, Troy, NC Brenda Thomas , Candor, NC Five Sisters: Ethel Saunders, Asheboro, NC Janie Milon, Lexington, NC Jeanette Deaton , Troy NC Pat Jacobs, Hope Mills NC Barbara Oliphant, Raeford, NC Three brothers: Larry Blue Raeford NC Bill Blue Hope Mills NC Cecil Blue, Raeford NC 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM, Monday, September 20, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
